Umar Mosque, formerly known as Islamic Scotstoun Centre, was first established in 2007 with the aim to serve and provide a facility for a Mosque in order to meet the needs of newly arrived Muslim communities from all over the world. Umar Masjid recently moved to a bigger, better location and is located in Scotstoun and neighbours areas such as Whiteinch, Jordanhill, Knightswood, Yorker and Clydebank. The centre’s most inspiring value is its Multi-denominational position and representing Muslims from many countries, backgrounds and diverse cultures.
